This is not normal,it is an outdated method of security that is more trouble than it is worth, ask your host why they use this. You are using jchoptimise, I suggest that you deactivate this while you upgrade/develop your site (make sure you clear its cache first) and reactivate it when you have your site production ready. You have a great deal of 3rd party extensions, you will have to check each one is J4 compliant, especially the Rok ones.
Hello. Thank you for the feedback.

I'm technical to a point, but still don't understand some things. What's changed where updates stopped working up to Dec 2023? Why are there two system folders?

What specifically causes this error? I can pass this message onto my host. They offered to pull a back up from 2 days ago, but I have to pay $100 for that. Can I just add an underscore for those 3rd party folders since I can't get into my admin to uninstall them? I don't even know what is using the ROK extensions. Don't remember ever using them. jchoptimise is definitely used.

I just want to learn how to fix this on my own.

Thank you
